Microsoft a făcut publice edițiile Windows 8. Sunt patru versiuni: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise și Windows RT. Primele două sunt gândite pentru calculatoarele și tabletele cu procesor x86/64. A treia nu va fi comercializată decâte pentru persoanele juridice. A patra versiune ne interesează în mod deosebit.
Windows RT - RT vine de la RunTime - va fi implementată pe calculatoarele și tabletele cu procesor ARM. Nu trebuie să vă gândiți la un preț de licență deoarece va fi integrat direct. Presupun că prețul licenței va fi răscumpărat din costul device-ului.
